General Information.
Pat and Jim Marland of Town End Farm, specialise in pure French Petit Basset Griffon Vendeens, (PBGVs) bred only from the very best imported French lines.
Our newest addition Dracena Des Ptits Bouts De Chouans won the classe jeune femelles (junior female) at the Exposition Nationale d'Elevage in May of this year and her first litter of three pups arrived just before 2010 began.
In France the larger Grand Basset Griffon is used to hunt for hares and roe deer, while the PBGV is used for rabbit hunts.
Whilst our dogs still retain the instinct to chase rabbits when out for walks, they are predominantly family pets and are very sociable.
The PBGV is a highly spirited, lively, loving and sensitive dog that is clever and has a mind of its own, but they are quite straightforward.
